하루에 두가지씩 배우는 영어표현!!

이 표현은 중학교때 이미 배우고 생활에서도 정말 많이 쓸수있는 표현입니다.

 

1. too ~ to ~ (너무 ~해서 ~할수 없다.)

 

Phil from accounting ran a marathon. (회계과 Phil이 마라톤을 뛰었데요.)

I thought he was too weak to do something like that.  (너무 약해서 그런거 못할줄 알았어)

 

Need a hand with that  box? (박스 드는거 도와드릴까요?)

Yes, it's too heavey for me to lift alone. (네. 혼자들기 너무 무겁네요.)

 

Let's get lunch at that new chinese place in midtown. (중국인 거리에 점심먹으러가요.)

Ok. but that is too far to walk, I'll drive. (걸어가기에는 너무 멀어요. 제가 운전해서 갈께요.)

 

This is too much for me to handle. (내가 다루기에는 너무 힘드네요)

The boy is too much for me to handle.

The job is too much for me to take.

That sounds too good to be true. (진짜라고 하기에는 너무 좋은데요.)

You are to good to be true. (칭찬할때 당신 어떻게 이럴수 있죠...)

The terms sound too good to be true.

I'm too full to eat the dessert.

 

2. can't even ~ (~조차 못해요라고 강조해서 말할때)

 

I'm so busy these days.

I can't even eat a proper meal. (제대로된 밥도 못먹어)

Maybe you should drop done of your obiligations.

 

I'm so tired, I can't even see straight. (너무 피곤해서 똑바로 보이지도 않아요.)

Just take a nap whenever that happens.

 

I'm so upset that I can't even look you in the face.

I'm really sorry, I didn't do it on purpose.

 

My throat is so sore, I can't even swallow anything.(목이 얼마나 부었는지 아무것도 못삼키겠어요.)

 

I'm so sick, I can't even open my mouth. (너무 아파서 입도 벌리지 못하겠어)

 

I can't even imagine him singing and dancing.

I can't even imagine me working with him. (그와 일한다는건 상상도 못해요.)

He was so drunk, he couldn't even stand straight. (어찌나 술에 취했던지 똑바로 서 있지도 못하더라구요.)

She was so nervous, she couldn't even speak. (어찌나 긴장을 했던지 말도하지 못하더군요.)

 

평소에 많이 쓰는 표현인데 한국에 살면서는 말할 기회가 거의 없죠!!! 하지만 하루에 몇번씩만 중얼거려보세요. 여행가서 아주 훌륭하게 써먹을수 있을거에요~~~
